The team members of the COMMOTION drama ministry, offer ourselves as servants of God to present Christ through dramatic performances, and to minister to those who do not understand Christianity in the traditional sense. Drama can be a very empowering tool. We want to empower others, through the power of God and His desires for us to have lives of fulfillment and abundance.
Our objective is to use the ministry as a creative outreach to churches, retirement homes, private venues and our community to make a difference in the lives of others.
Our aspiration is to reach and touch countless lives by allowing God to speak through us, act through us and teach the gospel and how to handle life experiences through visual ministry.
Christian drama is a valid and wonderful way to worship God and praise Him and celebrate His word in a communal locale. It is for Christians as well as non-Christians who want to get the experience of “being there”.
The ministry is designed to inspire, motivate, encourage and enthuse both the participants and supporters of the ministry. The ministry of drama, although at times may offer a light-hearted peek into the lives of our characters, is very serious about the content and message of Jesus Christ that is communicated through our acting and role playing.
We encourage our members to create and express themselves through:
vThe creation of original works.
vDiscovery through spiritual dynamics of image, movement, space, text and character visualization.
vSelf-expression, creative expression and positive participation.
The COMMOTION drama ministry encourages interdenominational, intercultural and community collaboration to expose our unique style of theater. We are committed to producing plays and programs that mirror contemporary realities, uphold Christian values, offer creativity, and promote education in the arts, and to serve as a training ground for undiscovered talent and artists.
